Ford Mustang Mach-E makes an electrifying arrival at P3.499M

Ford Philippines definitely made a loud entry into the electrified segment. First, they introduced the new Ford Territory that has 2 variants, both of which are hybrid. Now, they also announced the arrival of the Ford Mustang Mach-E – a fully electric SUV that combines the brand’s legacy and technology in one exciting package.

The Mustang name has been with Ford since its original introduction in 1964. It has seen changes in the global automotive scene in both design and mechanical aspects. This Mach-E version is only the latest in its phases and Ford didn’t hold back in packing this one out.

It’s powered by two electric motors that send power to all four wheels via All-Wheel Drive layout. There’s a total of 349 PS and 676 Nm of torque on tap, while the 88kWh battery makes sure you can go around 550 kilometers in a single charge. It supports 7kW and 11kW AC charging, while DC fast charging is at 150kW that can charge the Mustang 10-80 percent in 36-45 minutes.

The design of the Mustang Mach-E is definitely distinct from its ICE counterpart as it sits higher on the ground. There’s also no grille, with the Running Pony logo flat on the panel. The cabin also has a panoramic moon roof that lets natural light in. Its side profile is also sleeker thanks to the absence of door handles and in its place is an electronic latch and button. Meanwhile, the rear follows that of the ICE model only the taillight of the Mach-E has an extension accent.

Step into the cabin and you’ll see a different Mustang layout. You’ll be greeted with the large portrait 15-inch touchscreen and the absence of the shifter on the center console. They moved the shifter to the right side of the steering wheel column to free up space for better placement of the cupholders and wireless charger. The steering wheel itself has slimmer spokes and in front of it is a low-profile 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.

Both front seats are 10-way Power Adjustable, with the driver getting an additional Memory function. It’s accompanied by Dual Electronic Automatic Climate Control, Rear Air Vents, Hands-Free Tailgate, Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror, Bang & Olufsen Sound System, Perforated Active X Seats, and Multi-color Ambient Lighting.

The Mustang’s safety suite has been elevated to the Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology that features a 360-degree camera, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Braking, Collision Mitigation System, Reverse Brake Assist, Lane Keeping System, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Driver Impairment Monitor.

Driving the Mustang Mach-E can be different and more customizable. Apart from the Drive Modes, the steering wheel also has different configurations to suit your taste. It also has a 1-Pedal Driving Mode that allows for a more efficient and less fatiguing drive.

Going for the FordPass also grants you several more features like EV Charging Status, Remote Start/Stop of the car, Climate Control so the car is cooled before you enter, Charge Session Details, and more.
