Automotive authority EVO names the Lamborghini Revuelto Car of the Year

The Lamborghini Revuelto has claimed evo Car of the Year 2025, earning one of the highest honors in the performance car world and marking a defining moment for both the model and the brand. With a score of 97.7 points, Lamborghini’s first V12 plug-in hybrid outperformed a field of 12 exceptional rivals and secured a unanimous victory.

More than just another award, the result signals a shift in how electrification is now being judged at the very top of the supercar segment. The Revuelto is the first hybrid-powered model ever to win evo’s top distinction, and also the first Lamborghini to do so. For a manufacturer whose identity has long been tied to emotion, theater, and naturally aspirated drama, that achievement carries real weight.

As the successor to the Aventador, the Revuelto had to do more than replace a legend. It had to prove that Lamborghini could move into a new era without losing the intensity that defines its flagship V12 cars. It does exactly that. Powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 working with a plug-in hybrid system, the Revuelto produces a combined 1,015 horsepower, blending electrified performance with the unmistakable character expected from Sant’Agata’s most iconic formula.

What makes the Revuelto stand out is not just its speed, but the breadth of its ability. evo’s assessment highlighted the car’s balance of usability, composure, and dynamic precision, qualities not always associated with traditional supercars. It delivers excitement at full attack, yet remains approachable and confidence-inspiring even when driven at everyday road speeds.

Its design also reinforces its role as Lamborghini’s new halo model. The Revuelto has the visual impact expected of a modern flagship, carrying forward the dramatic presence once defined by cars like the Countach and Aventador while introducing a more advanced, technically focused direction.

The result was earned under demanding conditions. evo’s Car of the Year test spans more than 15,000 miles and exposes contenders to a wide range of roads, temperatures, and driving styles. That the Revuelto emerged on top speaks not only to its performance, but also to its consistency, durability, and real-world capability.

With this win, the Revuelto does more than add another trophy to Lamborghini’s history. It shows that the future of the supercar can embrace electrification while still delivering the drama, emotion, and presence that define the breed.
