Several illegally parked vehicles were towed during a series of clearing operations in Quezon City.
Newly elected Mayor Joy Belmonte on Monday ordered the activity in Barangays Central and Pinyahan, where 12 illegally parked vehicles were towed while 10 motorists who were obstructing the streets were given violation tickets.
Various tarpaulins and billboards that were illegally hanging along the stretch of Tomas Morato Avenue and Scout Tuazon were also taken down by operatives of the city’s Environmental Protection and Waste Management Department. 
“Reserved parking” signs in front of several establishments were also seized during the clearing operation.
The Quezon City Public Affairs Department said that some establishments were warned against allotting exclusive parking spaces as it violates the city’s existing ordinance.
Meanwhile, a similar activity was also conducted in front of the Balintawak Market where several tricycles and vendors were cleared from the sidewalk on Tuesday morning.
