One hurt after SUV crashes into bank in Quezon City

A female employee suffered an injury after a sport utility vehicle (SUV) crashed into a bank along EDSA on Wednesday morning.

According to a report by the Quezon City Police District, the incident occurred when the driver, identified as Esther Peralta, “accidentally accelerated the engine” while maneuvering her white Mitsubishi Montero at the parking space of Land Bank EDSA Congressional Branch.

The vehicle then rammed through the bank’s metal shutters, hitting an ATM machine and crashing into a cashier counter.

The victim was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center following the incident.

The QCPD said that a case will be filed against Peralta upon the completion of evidence.

Meanwhile, the Land Bank of the Philippines announced in a Facebook post that its EDSA Congressional branch will be temporarily closed due to damages from the vehicular accident.
