Rider dead in Nagtahan center island crash

A motorcycle rider died after crashing into the center island of Nagtahan flyover in Manila on Saturday midnight.

The victim, identified as Rhijie John Javie Dechavez, of legal age, suffered severe head injuries and face wounds that lead to his instant demise, according to the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit-Vehicle Traffic Investigation Section (MDTEU-VTIS).

An ambulance from the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) was quickly dispatched to the area but was unable to save Dechavez. Paramedics said that the victim was found unresponsive with head and facial wounds. He was proclaimed dead on the spot

Initial reports indicate that the rider was speeding along the northbound lane of Nagtahan flyover at around 3:30 in the morning when he suddenly crashed into the center island. The force of the impact hurled the victim’s body on the road while his motorcycle sustained damages. – Ludy Bermundo
