Fifteen people were injured after a passenger jeepney rammed into a Philippine Navy van in Makati City on Friday night.

In a report by The STAR, police said the van was traveling along Chino Roces Avenue, coming from A. Arnaiz Avenue and going towards EDSA while the jeepney was on the opposite lane.

Jeepney driver Renato delos Santos reportedly tried to avoid an oncoming vehicle and veered right, hitting the front part of the van in front of the La Fuerza building.

Delos Santos, who suffered minor injuries, fled the scene but his employer later turned him over to police. He told police his driver’s license was “missing.”

The jeepney’s 14 passengers were brought to the Makati Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Van driver Charles Joseph Villaruel and his passenger Dave Vernizer were brought to the Manila Naval Hospital.
