Duterte to police: Control speeding trucks

The recent spate of road crashes involving large vehicles has also caught the President’s attention. Duterte wants to put an end to over-speeding trucks – likening the road mishaps involving them to a “massacre.”

In a STAR report, the President said recent road accidents have resulted in the death of at least 10 people, a figure which he said is “no longer acceptable.” He added, “The police should control that… Overspeeding has to be controlled because many are dying… It’s like a massacre almost every day,” he added.

“Riding a truck is almost an adventure now because if you ride a truck, that son of a b____ would really get rammed,” the President said during the distribution of land ownership certificates in Cotabato City.
