The suspects allegedly avoided one of the checkpoints in Barangay Banga 1st, which prompted a police chase. The cops eventually caught up with the suspects in Barangay Bagong Silang at past 3 a.m. However, instead of surrendering, the suspects reportedly started a gunfight with the police, which led to their death.

Authorities recovered seven plastic sachets of shabu (methamphetamine), a pistol, two revolvers, an Uzi submachine gun, and the stolen vehicle at the scene of the incident. – Ramon Efren Lazaro and Romina Cabrera
