Car narrowly misses getting crushed by truck cargo

It could have been a worse fate for a driver and his sedan after a massive barge slipped from a truck transporting along España Aveñue in Manila early Saturday.

A local police officer was driving his Toyota Vios, which narrowly escaped being crushed after the cargo accidentally slipped from the truck and rested on the rear end of his vehicle.

Initial investigation revealed that the barge slid because it lacked restraining chains, making it tip while the truck was crossing the Philippine National Railway (PNR) track on España.

A back hoe was dispatched later to move the barge. PNR operations resumed more than half an hour after the barge was returned to the truck’s cargo bed around 6:30 a.m.
