EDSA, C-5 roadwork starts May 31

Portions of EDSA and C-5 will be closed to motorists over the weekend to give way to road repairs.

In an advisory, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said that road repairs along EDSA and C-5 will begin at 11 p.m. on Friday, May 31 to 5 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019.

The agency said that road reblocking activities along EDSA include the service road from Monte de Piedad to Aurora Boulevard, the first lane of New York Street, 3rd lane of Bansalangin Street, outer lanes of Magallanes up until the bus stops in Baclaran and Alabang.

Repair works will also cover the southbound portion of C-5’s outermost lane and U-turn slot near Market Market.

Meanwhile, some roads that will undergo maintenance activities are the northbound lanes of Aurora Boulevard’s first and second lanes from the intersection of Five Star Bus terminal and Quirino Highway’s first lane starting from Novaliches Plaza Mall.

The DPWH has advised motorists to take alternate routes to avoid the expected traffic build up in the affected areas.
