The Isuzu D-MAX EV is now in production, deliveries starting at Q3 2025

Isuzu has announced that the fully-electric version of the D-MAX is now moving into production in Thailand. This comes a year after they unveiled the prototype in last year’s Bangkok International Motor Show.

The Isuzu D-MAX EV has undergone major changes from the prototype we saw last year. The most prominent one is the presence of a standard grille like its diesel counterpart, only this has blue accents on the horizontal slats to differentiate it.

The D-MAX EV is sized almost the same as the diesel version, with marginal differences on the length and width. Isuzu says this will still have a full-time 4WD system with newly developed e-Axles for the front and rear.

Another major difference is the power. The D-MAX EV has around 188 horsepower and 325 Nm of torque, a step down from the current 190Hp/450Nm the diesel version have today. Although the D-MAX EV will have a snappier response in acceleration due to its EV nature. it ‘s also rated to go over 130 kph, and up to 361 km of range on a single charge.

It has a 66.9 kWh battery and up to 11kW AC charging capability that can go 0-100% in 10 hours. DC fast charging is up to 50 kW allowing you to fill 20%-80% in just 1 hour.

Isuzu ensures that despite the change in powertrain, the D-MAX EV is just as capable in doing pickup duties. It can still carry 1,010 kg at the back, and a 3,500 kg maximum towing capacity.

Production of the left-hand drive version has already started and will be shipped to the European market by the 3rd quarter. Right-hand drive versions will begin production at the end of the year and will be sent to the UK at the beginning of 2026. Other markets will follow based on needs and demand.
