Vehicle smashup leaves teacher dead, 2 injured

An elementary school teacher lost his life, and two others were injured following a road accident in Sta. Mesa, Manila on Monday.

According to a report by The STAR, the teacher, identified as Bienvenido Luha, died on the spot after his motorcycle was caught between a jeepney and a van’s rear end at the corner of R. Magsaysay Boulevard and Pureza street around 10:46 a.m.

Fernando Florida, the driver of the jeepney, said he lost control of the vehicle when its brakes suddenly malfunctioned.

The accident snarled traffic for around two hours along R. Magsaysay Boulevard while traffic enforcers worked to remove remove the stricken vehicles.

Charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and multiple physical injuries will be charged against Florida, who was arrested after the incident. – With Rey Galupo/STAR
