Law student survives car crash in Makati

A law student was unhurt after the sedan he was driving broke through the center island railings on Don Chino Roces Avenue in Makati City early Wednesday morning.

According to a police report, the driver, identified as Roman Kintanar, was driving a white Toyota Corolla Altis (ABE 2883) along Paseo de Roxas at 2:45 a.m. when he suddenly swerved across the opposite lane, hitting the center railing.

Kintanar, who was under the influence of alcohol, allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel before he rammed the railings, according to Col. Rogelio Simon.

The Makati police are still coordinating with the Makati City Hall if they will pursue filing charges against Kintanar for damaging government property, Simon said.
