MRT-3 cleaning personnel in viral video face disciplinary action

The MRT-3 management said on Sunday that the cleaning personnel caught hastily disinfecting one of its trains are now facing disciplinary action.

The statement came on the heels of a viral video which showed two cleaning personnel hurriedly disinfecting the coaches of an MRT-3 train.

The management said that “matters have been taken to prevent a repeat of that unfortunate incident and that the personnel involved are now facing disciplinary action.”

“The MRT-3 management will not tolerate any breach of health protocols as we stem the spread of COVID-19 while serving the daily transportation needs of commuters,” it said.

The video made rounds on social media amid the increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.

“We have sternly reminded members of our cleaning and disinfection staff that while there is a need to disinfect all train coaches at speed, the process of disinfection must be focused and done with care,” it added.
