Chery Auto PH celebrates first year at MIAS Wired

Chery Tiggo 2

As the automotive industry recovers from the adverse effects of the current coronavirus pandemic, Chery Philippines, under the management of United Asia Automotive Group (UAAGI), is one of those car brands that quickly got on its footing. The company recorded a 162 percent increase in sales from June to July 2020, in line with the restrictive measures loosening up.

Chery Philippines aims to bolster that positive outlook towards the end of this slow year by flaunting its Tiggo line of crossovers at the 2020 MIAS Wired, the first online version of the Manila International Auto Show.

Of note, this marks Chery Philippines’ first year since its return in the country and will also be the first time that the automaker will be joining the motor show, albeit, through a virtual platform.

At the forefront of the Chery lineup is the Tiggo 8 flagship midsize crossover, which offers seven seating and a luxurious cabin in non-premium pricing. It¡¯s the only vehicle in the lineup that¡¯s offered with seven seats.

Next up is the Tiggo 2, which is the entry-level model in the revamped Chery lineup in the country. The Tiggo 2 is a subcompact crossover that sells below P700,000, making it one of the most affordable crossovers your money can buy.

The Tiggo 5X is also a subcompact crossover but a tad larger than the entry-level Tiggo 2. Apart from being bigger, the Tiggo 5X also has a slightly more powerful 1.5-liter engine that makes 114hp and 141 Nm of torque. Its sticker price starts above P800,000.

Below the flagship Tiggo 8, the Chery Tiggo 7 serves as the compact crossover offering. However, the automaker only dishes up a teaser at MIAS Wired, which points us to the Tiggo 7 Pro – a new model that was launched in China and some parts of the world earlier this year.

Just like the Tiggo 8 flagship, the Tiggo 7 Pro should offer a premium package that comes with a bevy of tech features and high-quality cabin materials.

All brand-new Chery vehicles that roll right off the showrooms come with a five-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, a free three-year preventive maintenance service package, and a 10-year or one-million-kilometer engine and drivetrain warranty.

Take a gander at the revamped Chery crossovers in the country and get to know them up close at MIAS Wired.
