LTO extends validity of student permits

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced on Tuesday that the validity of student permits which expired during the community quarantine will be extended until October 31, 2020.

“Extended ang validity hanggang October 31, 2020 para sa mga aplikante ng lisensya na may Student Permit na nag expire nang Community Quarantine at tumuntong sa edad na 21 habang umiiral ang nasabang Community quarantine,” LTO said in a Facebook post.

The agency earlier announced that the validity of vehicle registration will be extended in order to avoid congestion in its offices amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

In an advisory issued on Monday, the LTO said that the registration validity of motor vehicles with plate numbers ending in 6, 7 and 8 will be extended until October 30, 2020 while those ending in 9 and 0 will be given until December 31, 2020. 

The agency said that it has issued an extension in order to prevent overcrowding in its offices as more motorists are expected to renew their expired or expiring vehicle registrations.
