Kennon Road to open every weekend for Panagbenga Festival

Kennon Road, the shortest and most scenic route going to Baguio City, will be opened to motorists every weekends starting Jan. 31 in anticipation of the influx of tourists for the Panagbenga Festival.

According to the Cordillera Risk and Disaster Management Council, both lanes of Kennon Road will be opened to light vehicles beginning this Friday at 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.

The same traffic scheme will also be implemented on Feb. 7-10; Feb. 14-17; Feb. 21-24; Feb 28-March 2; and March 6-9.

As for weekdays, motorists may only access the northbound lane of Kennon Road from 6:01 p.m. on Monday up to Friday at 5:59 a.m.

Authorities reminded motorists to always follow traffic rules and monitor road advisories since Kennon Road may be closed to traffic in the event of inclement weather. – Artemio Dumlao
